YouTube star of 2018 is a seven-year-old boy

A kid who earned a whopping amount of money by just playing with toys. But in front of a camera.

Ryan, 7-year-old YouTuber, is the highest-paid YouTube star of 2018 What were you doing when you were 7 years old? Lugging around a school bag and deciding when to go out and play? Or for the younger lot, probably wondering whether to spend time catching Pokemon outside or watching them on TV inside. Now meet Ryan of Ryan ToysReview. He is listed as the highest-paid YouTube star of 2018 according to Forbes... and he earned, wait for it, USD 22 million - that's 155 crore in Indian currency (Rs 1,55,00,00,000)! Ryan has 17 million subscribers on his YouTube channel. The channel is replete with videos of the child playing with his toys, unboxing them and in general, just being a child. But he does all of it on camera. An adult shoots these videos and puts them on YouTube, which in turn are viewed by millions of his fans. All of these views then help the channel - and Ryan - earn money from pre-roll advertisements, reports Forbes. Ryan earns 21 million dollars (Rs 147 crore) from all these pre-roll advertisements on his channels (there's another channel called Ryan's Family Review). The rest of the money, 1 million dollars (Rs 8 crore), comes from sponsored ads. Among the 7-year-old's most watched videos are him playing with Disney toys and Paw Patrol. Each of these videos have over 10 million views, mostly from kids his age, says Forbes. The others on the highest-paid YouTube stars list this year include Jake Paul, Dude Perfect, Dan TDM, Jeffree Star. See.. As he is still a child, 15% of Rayn's earnings are put into a bank account that he can only access when he becomes adult.
